What Are Sensor Doors? How do automatic door sensors work?

Sensor Doors: Sensor Doors are the doors that use sensors in them to detect motions and movements that is when an object moving encounters the door, the door opens automatically. After some time they close again. They are referred as automatic doors.

How Sensor Doors Work?

Talking generically about the working of sensor doors they detect an object encountered towards them. They use microwave technology and utilize Doppler Effect.

They emit a high frequency signal and strikes the object, after striking it is bounced back and object is detected from their heat.

Presence Sensors detect moving as well as non moving objects. Presence sensors are entitled with Infrared technology. They emit invisible light and performs after receiving back.

Automatic Door Sensors Technology:

Automatic Doors or Sensor Doors use Infrared Sensors.

They work by detecting change in temperature. When temperature is warmer it means a human has encountered emitting heat from the body. The door opens and closes afterwards.

Automatic Door Sensors Working:

The first automatic sliding doors for use by people were invented in 1954 by Lew Hewitt and Dee Horton; the first one was installed in 1960. It made use of a mat actuator.

When you step on the mat, the sensors send a signal to the automatic doors that tells them to open. Other automatic doors operate on optic or motion sensors. When these optic or motion sensors sense motion nearby, they trigger the automatic doors to open and then close.

Types of Detectors:

Following are 6 different types of sensors that home alarm systems use to detect an object:

  1. Passive Infrared Motion Detectors.
  2. Ultrasonic Detectors.
  3. Microwave Detectors.
  4. Magnetic Switches.
  5. Photoelectric Beams.
  6. Glass Break Detectors.

Moving towards some of the sensors and technology. We will discuss them to give you an overview of how they work and on which principle.

Door Sensors:

Now moving towards another type of door openers or sensors. They work with a sensor and magnet. Sensor is installed on window frame and magnet on the door pane. A circuit is connected by a magnetic current. When the door opens it is alarmed by door sensor alarms by the disturbance of currents.

Door Alarm Sensors:

Door Alarm Sensor is a device that is programmed to detect when the door has opened. Everything is programmed for detection of door motion.

Garage Door Sensors:

Garage Door Sensors work on the principle of beams. If an object breaks the beam, the closing garage door reverses direction. When a safety sensor fails, the remote won’t work and the lights on the motor unit blink when you press the remote.

To test the sensors, connect them directly to the motor unit with short wires. Hold the eyes close together, facing each other.

Garage Door Safety Sensors:

Garage Doors use a safety sensor as main device. When these infrared sensors are malfunctioned or blocked they will start to blink indicating an issue.

Wi-Fi Door Sensors:

Wi-Fi Door Sensors work by wifi system that is used to control the functionalities. Sensor is programmed with the base to alert you when a door or window is opened. Notifications get sent straight to your smartphone or smart device. Magnetic Sensor Alerts you when a window or door is opened.

Wireless Door Sensors:

In it sensors can be placed on doors and window. A reed switch consists of a set of electrical connectors placed slightly apart. Door Sensors have one reed switch and one magnet, creating a closed circuit. If someone opens an armed door or window, the magnet is pulled away from the switch, which breaks the circuit and triggers an event.

Door Motion Sensors:

Door Motion Sensor is the main device that detects when someone is in your home when they shouldn’t be. A motion sensor uses one or multiple technologies to detect movement in an area.

Such As:

  1. Passive Infrared Motion detector.
  2. Photo sensor motion detector.
  3. Light sensors.

Passive Infrared Motion Detectors (PIR):

Passive Infrared Motion Detectors (PIR) detect emitted infrared energy given off by humans and animals in the form of heat. When there is a sudden increase in infrared energy, an alarm is sounded.

Photo Sensor Motion & Light Sensors:

Photo Sensor Motion detection generally employs laser beams (or another source of focused light) and light sensors.

Door Senor Alarms:

The alarm is installed in door sensors. When a burglar picks a lock or climbs through an open window, door and window sensors sound the alarm doing everything from emitting a loud siren to triggering your home security system to sending you an alert on your smart phone.

Smart Door Sensors:

Smart Door Sensors are programmed to sense motion by the ue of Wi-Fi.

It is really advantageous to have automatic and smart home automation services and doors. The pros mainly include:

Performance by Smart Phones:

Connect your Bluetooth with door locks. Just tap on your phone and make the door open. How cool is that!

Send e keys:

Don’t make your family members and friends wait outside because you’re not at home. Send the e Keys to them via the mobile app so that they can let in. what else can be better than that.

Detection of Presence:

Let’s accept it, many of us are either locked outside or inside our home accidentally. Instead of screaming or worrying, you can trust your smart locking system. It knows whether you’re outside or inside the home.

High Security:

With smart door locking system, you can decide who can enter your home at what time. It lowers the risk of anything get stolen.

Convenient for physically impaired people:

Since it can be opened with smartphone, a senior citizen or disabled don’t have to struggle with keys or go near the door to open it.

Amazingness at the Peak! Can you get me any one reason of not accepting the smart door lock system?

I think it is the best invention so far. Do facilitate yourself hurriedly.
